"Most psychiatric care starts with a prescription. Here, we start with the deeper work — and reach for medication only when it is truly needed."The Philosophy of Integral Health & Healing
The founder of Integral Health & Healing, PLLC brings over two decades of clinical experience across some of the most demanding and diverse healthcare environments in the world. Her journey began in 2001 as a CNA — a foundation that instilled in her a deep, ground-level understanding of what it means to care for another human being at their most vulnerable.
She became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2007 and a Registered Nurse in 2008, going on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University in 2009. Over the years that followed, she cultivated an extraordinarily broad clinical foundation — practicing in ICU, step-down, liver and kidney transplant units, endoscopy, pre-op, and PACU settings, as well as both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry. As a travel nurse, she worked across the country within some of the most respected and high-acuity healthcare organizations in the world, developing a rare breadth of clinical perspective that few practitioners possess.
In 2022, she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a family focus from Arizona State University, where her doctoral work centered on an innovative pilot study examining the relationship between plant-based diets, Type 2 diabetes, and the potential for reversal in the primary care setting — reflecting her enduring commitment to integrative, root-cause medicine.
In 2024, she was awarded the Diplomate of Lifestyle Medicine by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine — one of the most respected and rare credentials in integrative health. This rigorous designation deepened her expertise in the six pillars of lifestyle medicine: nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress resilience, avoidance of risky substances, and positive social connection. Rather than managing chronic illness reactively, she learned to empower clients to reclaim genuine independence in their health — equipping them with the daily preventative practices that address root causes before they escalate into crises. It is this philosophy that gave rise to the Integral Health Lifestyle Medicine Program at the heart of this practice.
It was in primary care, however, that she began to feel the limitations of a conventional model — the relentless pace, the surface-level interventions, and the glaring gaps in meaningful mental health support. She witnessed firsthand how many patients were suffering not just from psychiatric symptoms, but from unresolved trauma that no prescription could touch. This recognition ignited a pivotal shift: a commitment to deepen her training specifically in psychiatric mental health and trauma therapy.
In December 2025, she earned her Post-Master's Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Across the Lifespan from Regis College in Weston, MA — formalizing years of clinical growth with rigorous advanced psychiatric training. During her clinical rotations, she worked across both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, gaining hands-on experience with severe psychiatric illnesses, dual diagnosis populations, and novel therapeutic modalities including ketamine infusion therapy and Spravato (esketamine) — placing her at the forefront of emerging psychiatric treatment.
She further deepened her psychotherapeutic foundation by completing an intensive six-month in-depth trauma treatment training program — because she knew that prescribing alone was never going to be enough. Her vision has always been to go deeper: to offer the kind of transformative, root-level healing that changes not just symptoms, but lives.
Today, she founded Integral Health & Healing, PLLC with a singular mission — to offer something different. Not the turn-and-burn model. Not surface-level symptom management. But deep, whole-person care that honors the full complexity of who you are and the full weight of what you have carried.
What makes her approach uniquely personal is that she does not come to this work from the outside looking in. She understands — not just clinically, but from lived experience — what it means to grow up in a dysfunctional family system, to carry anxiety and PTSD, and to search for care that could actually reach the root. For years she sought a therapist with the depth and courage to go there. That search shaped everything. It is why she pursued training far beyond conventional psychiatry, why she has committed herself to doing her own deep work, and why she brings the full weight of that experience into every session she holds.
But her healing has never been a single moment or a single method. It has been, and continues to be, a journey — one built through many tools, many seasons, and a willingness to go wherever the work requires. Alongside deep therapeutic work, her path has taken her across the world in pursuit of wisdom that conventional medicine could not offer. In 2011 she completed a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate under the legendary T. Colin Campbell at Cornell University — one of the earliest seeds of what would become her integrative philosophy. In 2012 she became a certified Reiki practitioner, training in both New York City and Peru, developing a felt understanding of energy, the body, and healing beyond the purely clinical. That same year she immersed herself in Shamanic Yoga in Peru — a rigorous 200-hour training weaving together Sivananda, Ashtanga, Pranayama, and plant-based medicine traditions into a deeply embodied practice. In 2015 she traveled to Kerala, India, where she studied Ayurvedic principles and massage — one of the world's oldest healing systems — gaining firsthand experience of how ancient traditions approach the restoration of mind, body, and spirit in harmony.
Yoga, meditation, ceremonial plant medicine work in Peru, Reiki, Ayurveda — these are not footnotes to her clinical training. They are the living, breathing foundation beneath it. She does not approach healing from a textbook alone. She approaches it as someone who has lived it across continents, cultures, and modalities — and who brings that rare, hard-won wisdom into every clinical encounter.
She became the practitioner she once needed — not because she arrived at some fixed destination of wholeness, but because she committed to the journey with honesty, courage, and an open heart. That same commitment is what she brings to every person who trusts her with their care.
Her curiosity about healing extends well beyond the clinical. She holds a formal Aromatherapy certification from New York City (2012) and is an enthusiast of herbal medicine and sound medicine — ancient modalities she weaves into her own daily practice and integrative philosophy of care. In 2015, she traveled to Thailand to study Chi Nei Tsang, an advanced form of Thai abdominal massage rooted in Taoist tradition that works directly with the organs, nervous system, and emotional body — a profound modality that deepened her understanding of how trauma, grief, and unprocessed emotion live not just in the mind, but in the body itself. She believes that healing lives in many forms, and that the wisest practitioners remain students of all of them.
When she is not in session, you might find her on a road trip with the windows down, exploring an eclectic café in a city she has never visited, or boarding a plane somewhere abroad. She loves a great comedy show, time in nature, a yoga class focused on breathwork, and the deep stillness of a sound bath. She is also learning to grow her own food and tends to her garden with the same intention she brings to everything — as a practice of patience, nourishment, and connection to the earth. And at the heart of it all — she comes home to her four beloved animals: Brody, Sammie, Abby, and Toby, her two dogs and two cats who remind her daily that presence, play, and unconditional love are medicine too.
Specialized Training
This is not a single-protocol practice. The therapeutic framework at Integral Health & Healing is grounded in the neurobiology of trauma and somatic theory — shaped by the critical clinical recognition that event trauma and attachment wounds are fundamentally different in nature, and each requires a distinct treatment pathway.
At the core of this work is a deep understanding of how trauma lives in the nervous system — not just the mind. Grounded in Polyvagal Theory, the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, attachment theory, somatic theory, memory reconsolidation, and developmental trauma — this approach recognizes that lasting healing requires working with the body and the nervous system, not around them.
"When to Regulate. When to Process. When to Stabilize. One of the most critical and most often overlooked skills in trauma work is knowing which intervention belongs in which moment."
Discrete traumatic experiences such as accidents, assaults, loss, or overwhelming life events are treated using a modified, precision-focused approach incorporating alternative bilateral stimulation. Memory reconsolidation principles, NLP, and somatic Polyvagal tools support the nervous system throughout.
Relational injuries formed in early caregiving environments cannot be resolved through trauma processing alone. This pathway uses DNMS (Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy), an ego-based parts therapy grounded in attachment and developmental trauma theory.
"The goal is not symptom management. The goal is to understand the roots of depression, anxiety, and trauma — and to facilitate the kind of meaningful clinical change that sets you free from them."
This is first and foremost a psychotherapy practice. Deep, transformative trauma work is at the heart of everything we do. Medication, when needed, is always considered thoughtfully — used as a last resort, never a first response.
Root-level psychotherapy grounded in the neurobiology of trauma, somatic theory, Polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and a sophisticated dual-pathway framework. This is not talk therapy — this is deep work, and it is for everyone.

Integral Health & Healing was founded with a deep commitment to inclusivity — creating a space where every person can access care that truly sees them. This practice is intentionally built to serve those who have struggled to find a provider they can connect with privately, culturally, and ethnically — without judgment, without erasure, and without having to explain or justify who they are.
Those who have served and protected others and who carry the invisible weight of that service. Specialized trauma care for PTSD, moral injury, hypervigilance, and the challenges of transitioning out of high-stress roles.
Burnout, compassion fatigue, moral distress, and secondary traumatic stress are real — and they deserve real care. As a nurse herself, the founder understands this world from the inside.
High-functioning individuals who appear to have it together on the outside while carrying anxiety, perfectionism, unresolved trauma, or burnout beneath the surface — who need a private, confidential space to do the real work.
African-Americans, Caribbean-Americans, the Africana Diaspora, Hispanic and Latino communities, and multicultural individuals navigating identity, intergenerational trauma, and cultural stigma.
Transgender, nonbinary, and all LGBTQIA+ individuals deserve affirming, knowledgeable care that understands minority stress, identity-based trauma, family rejection, and the courage it takes to seek help.
Navigating multiple cultural identities, belonging to more than one world and sometimes feeling fully claimed by none — this practice offers a space to explore, grieve, integrate, and celebrate the fullness of who you are.
Your culture is not a barrier to navigate. Your identity is not a complication. Your background is not something to translate or minimize. It is the very context within which your healing will be honored — fully, and without exception.

"When we treat the whole person, we change the whole life."
Rooted in Doctoral Research
"The body is not separate from the mind. What we feed one, we feed the other."
The founder's doctoral research at Arizona State University centered on an innovative pilot study examining the relationship between plant-based diets, Type 2 diabetes, and the potential for reversal in the primary care setting. This work was not academic abstraction — it was a reflection of a lifelong, deeply personal conviction that food is medicine, and that the roots of chronic illness and mental suffering are often found in how we nourish — or fail to nourish — our bodies. She also completed formal Plant-Based Nutrition certification with T. Colin Campbell at Cornell University in 2011, grounding her clinical lens in decades of peer-reviewed research on whole-food, plant-based eating.
Emerging research consistently links higher consumption of whole plant foods — vegetables, legumes, fruits, whole grains — with significantly lower rates of depression and anxiety. The gut-brain axis plays a central role: the microbiome, fed by plant fiber, directly produces neurotransmitters including serotonin and dopamine that regulate mood.
Chronic systemic inflammation — driven heavily by ultra-processed foods, refined sugars, and animal products high in saturated fat — is now recognized as a key driver of depression, anxiety, cognitive decline, and even psychosis. Anti-inflammatory plant foods rich in polyphenols, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids actively counter this neuroinflammatory cascade.
Whole plant foods provide steady, sustained energy by stabilizing blood sugar — unlike refined carbohydrates and processed foods which cause the spikes and crashes that fuel brain fog, irritability, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. Stable blood sugar is foundational to stable mood and cognitive performance.
The gut microbiome — the community of trillions of bacteria living in the digestive tract — is now understood to be a second brain. It communicates directly with the central nervous system via the vagus nerve, producing neurochemicals that influence anxiety, stress response, sleep, and emotional regulation. A diverse, fiber-rich plant-based diet is the single most powerful way to cultivate a thriving microbiome.
Plant foods rich in tryptophan, magnesium, and melatonin precursors — including nuts, seeds, legumes, and leafy greens — directly support the body's natural sleep architecture. Poor sleep is both a symptom and a cause of psychiatric disorders; nutritional support for sleep is a clinically underutilized intervention.
The landmark research of T. Colin Campbell (The China Study), Dr. Dean Ornish, and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn has demonstrated that whole-food, plant-based eating can halt and in many cases reverse Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic illnesses — conditions that share deep bidirectional relationships with psychiatric disorders including depression and anxiety.
"The science is clear. The results are unmistakable. A whole-food, plant-based diet is the most powerful tool we have for both preventing and reversing chronic disease."
